Scan QR Codes - Device IDs

Before deploying a Silvanet Device, use the device's QR Code to update the device's location in the Silvanet Cloud.

About Device IDs

The Device ID is provided as a unique text string and QR Code printed on a label attached to the back or side of each Silvanet Gateway and sensor.

When scanned into the Silvanet Deployment app, the Device ID registers the device with the Silvanet Cloud.

It also allows the Silvanet Cloud to know the location of the device in a Site and which sensor sent data, such as a fire alert.

Each node in a LoRaWAN network contains its own unique Device ID.

A Pending icon next to a Packet indicates the devices in the Packet have not been deployed.

Scan QR Codes

  1. In the Silvanet Deployment app, select a Site, then open a Packet.

  1. Tap the Magnifying Glass icon next to a Silvanet Device.

  1. The map of the Site appears with the selected Silvanet device highlighted. Your location is indicated by a blue dot. Tap Install to begin registering the Device ID.

  1. Scan the device's QR Code, usually attached to the back of the Silvanet device. The Silvanet Deployment app automatically fills in the Silvanet device's latitude and longitude using the Smartphone's GPS location. If the QR Code cannot be scanned, the information can be entered manually. Tap Enter manually to continue.

  1. After scanning the QR Code, the device's serial number and GPS location (latitude and longitude) is entered automatically in the Install screen. Add relevant information in the Notes field such as observations about the location of the Silvanet device.

  1. Tap Save to register the Device ID with the Silvanet Cloud
