From time to time a Silvanet device may need to be moved to a new location. This can occur when a tree on which a sensor is attached falls (or is felled) or if a pole on which a Mesh Gateway is deployed must be moved. In these cases, the GPS coordinates of the Silvanet device can be easily updated using either the Site Management app or the Deployment app.

Update using the Site Management app

  1. From the Site Management app, select the Site that includes the Silvanet device.

  2. From the Device overview section, expand a Silvanet device to display device data, then select Device info.

  1. In the Device info page, select the Location tab.

  2. Enter the new Latitude and Longitude values in the respective fields, then select Submit.

  1. The updated latitude and longitude values are saved to the Silvanet Cloud.

Update using the Deployment app

Latitude and Longitude values for a Silvanet Device can only be changed on deployed devices.

If you are out in the forest relocating a Silvanet device, you can use the Deployment app to update the Latitude and Longitude values.

  1. From the list of Sites, tap a Site.

  2. Select a deployed device to open the Device Details screen.

  1. Select Edit (pencil icon) next to the Coordinates (Latitude, Longitude) to open the Edit Coordinates dialog.

  2. If you know the new Latitude and Longitude values, enter them in the respective fields. After changing the values, tap Confirm.

  1. If you know where the new location is on a map, or If you are in the forest, use the embedded map in the Deployment app to update the Latitude and Longitude values.

    1. Select Adjust Pin Location on Map, device appears in the center of the map.

    2. Drag the map to place the pin in the new location. Note: The device icon remains in the middle of the map.

    3. Tap Confirm to update the values.
